The Scarf Witch

immersing into an allegory of presence

matter as a symbol

What is a symbol?
A representation of an original.

Then what is the original? The first, the primary… quite literally source.
It is the vibration that many refer to as God. It is the primary source code, and even as I try to describe it, I can only come close because the language that I have is only symbolic. Language itself - the way we have to communicate with each other - consists of symbolic images and sounds on which we have agreed upon a consistent meaning.

I cannot speak the utterance of what is literally source - and coming in contact with the essence - the fleeting glimmer of pure source in the truest form that we are able to experience it - we are awestruck in its awesomeness. In that moment - there is a reverence and a humility suspended in time and space.
Many people speak of getting this feeling of mutual smallness and connectedness when looking at a star-filled sky or a neon sunset, regardless of what they believe makes it be so.

The first verse of the Tao Te Ching - includes the statement "the Tao that can be understood is not the eternal, cosmic Tao, just as an idea that can be expressed in words is not the infinite idea."

So everything "here" - this is an image - it is not the original. It's why it's so easy to jump to the conclusion that this - all of this - isn't real - because it's not original - it is an image/a reflection a likeness, a model.

And yet, it is clay that we have to work with.

We have come into the world of form - where there is structure and arrangements of systems -
a mode in which we can navigate down a potentially infinite number of paths - making movement - progressing -
we are experimenting, examining, and expanding into the future built on the past - both so seemingly definite yet equally untouched.

We struggle and attack, we inspect and investigate
We apply the conclusions we collectively conditioned into our experience.
All the while - trying to find the source
…and if we step back, we can see that we are seeing source - it is all around us:
every idea and every opinion - all part of the perfect form.

…because, together, we can explore every pixel of this expression and yet, and by the nature of being able to do so, we do not have access to the perfect symbol that presents the original.

So I am dedicated to remembering this - remembering that it all is an expression and exploration of existence itself, and I am a manifestation of that presence, moving through and interacting with other manifestations of the same presence.
And in that way, I can allow for it all to be and allow myself to flow within it.

Not to say that I must be always in a state of blissful oneness - in fact, that is an attachment in itself.

I am dedicated to simply acknowledging and being with all that is.

In Taoism, it is called Wu Wei - or effortless action.
In Buddhism, it is non-attachment.
It's not giving up in indifference - it is ecstatically dancing in compassionate understanding.

…Understanding that
all this matter is a living symbol
and life is an allegory of presence.
