Brigid, artisan of duality and keeper of the flame
You remind me to light the fire within atop the depths of the well You remind me to find inspiration In the art of life
Finding wisdom and healing And forging protection
Through the creative spark of innocence Delighting in the pleasure and beauty of the sun
I've been thinking a lot lately about my 5th house moon, Leo rising, and sun conjunct Chiron.
My "big 3" are related. With Leo rising, my chart ruler is the sun. Leo also rules the 5th house.
The 5th house - the house of creativity, self-expression, and children. Sometimes called the house of Pleasure - referring to both adult desire and child-like play.
Prior to realizing Leo ruled the 5th house, I never could reconcile my moon in the 5th house because it was also Capricorn - the strict discipline cardinal earth sign - not really one for fun.
But as I put Leo into the mix, I started to realize something a little more nuanced.
Leo is not proud in a way that is better than. Leo is pure child-like joy in the freedom of self-expression. A blissfully ignorant freedom - one in which the child cannot help but be who they fully are and express themselves with no limits to the imagination.
This is medicine to my inner child wounds - from the Capricorn moon placement to Chiron Conjunct my sun in the middle of the sky (it is also near my MC) - stopping me short of experiencing the joy of expressing my light; needing to hold myself together. Not wanting to "show-off".
Brigid and her archetypes have entered my sphere throughout the past year, and while I don't fully follow the Wheel of the Year, I felt moved to craft her cross for Imbolc.
When I came across pipe cleaners as an option, while it felt juvenile, I realized the beautiful synchronicity. This right here - the pure unadulterated creativity of a child.
So, in this moment, I honor the Spirit of Brigid through this small act of poetry and craft.
I see you don’t mind us sharing it so if I don’t hear back from you I will simply do so. I am including it in this year’s newsletter for the Brigit flame tending group, Daughters of the Flame.
Lovely work, Kelly. I see that it’s all right to share your peace so I am going to re-blog it, eventually, on my Brigit poetry blog, Stone on the Belly. I am also including it in this year’s newsletter for the Brigit flame tending group, Daughters of the Flame.
