The Power of Unconditional Self-Love in Regulating Your Nervous System

I saw something about regulating your nervous system and how regulating is like controlling, and that control is patriarchal.
It got me thinking, or at least clarified something for me within the theme of control versus responsibility that I had been exploring. The control, specifically the patriarchal control: it's containing.
And when you're fighting internally, when there's a war inside you, when you're twisted up, things are not flowing, things are knotted up. You need room in there or it's gonna explode. And control acts as a container to stop all of that fight from getting outside because you wouldn't want to disturb everybody else's peace.

And this is why unconditional love, radical unconditional self love, works: that energy expands. I truly believe that we have access to infinity. And when we give ourselves unconditional love, that space inside opens up, it relaxes, and it allows all of those things that are knotted up inside you to breathe, to unravel, to find their place, so that it doesn't have to explode.
There is no explosion, because it's not being forced into a space.

You're at peace within now, and so you don't have to worry about that accidentally exploding and hurting others.
So, now, when I hear "regulating your nervous system", I'm hearing how I'm taking responsibility for the tensions inside me, not in a way that I'm gonna contain it as to keep the peace outside, but in a way that I am going to transmute it so that I have peace inside.
And then that all of that just expands, but slowly and gently, and less intrusive to the field.
